Silver and gold — colors of light, dignity, and celebration. In traditional ornamentation across cultures, metallic threads were reserved for pieces that mattered: ceremonial, festive, made to last and to be seen. This patch carries that same quality. The silver and gold create a luminous, refined effect that sets it apart from anything else in the collection.
Crimea's embroidery tradition draws from multiple cultures layered over centuries — Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar, and others — each contributing to a visual language that has survived enormous pressure to disappear. This patch is my own graphic interpretation of that heritage, rendered in metallic tones that feel both timeless and specific to a place.
Crimea is occupied. Its name belongs on things people wear and carry. Keeping it visible is the whole point.
