Klavdia Postcard

Here's something most people don't know: in traditional Ukrainian embroidery, patterns weren't copied. Women designed them from scratch, for specific people, with symbols chosen just for them. A shirt was a talisman. Personal. Irreplaceable.

The same logic holds for a print.

I took the letters of Klavdia and turned them into a geometric embroidery pattern — the same way Ukrainian ornamental designs have always been built, from a center point outward. The print shows the reveal: the name at the top, the pattern below, and thin lines connecting each letter back to its place in the geometry. The full-color version of the same pattern sits in the corner, showing how the design appears in finished embroidery.

No other name makes this pattern. Only Klavdia.
