Luhansk Embroidered Patch
Luhansk Embroidered Patch

Luhansk embroidery was distinctive for its texture — craftswomen there worked with coarser threads, creating a relief quality that made the patterns feel almost three-dimensional. The color palette was typically red and blue on white, with geometric and floral-geometric ornaments. Shirts from the region had a polychromatic quality unusual for eastern Ukraine.
Luhansk is occupied territory now. Its traditions, its people, its embroidery — carried forward by those who left, preserved by those who stayed.
This patch is my original graphic interpretation of those patterns. The name is in the design, hidden in the geometry. I make it because these places deserve to be remembered as what they are — not what they've been made into.
Iron it on. Wear it. Keep the name visible.
