Lviv's coat of arms is a fortress gate — a symbol of the city's strength, its history as a fortified royal capital of the Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia, its identity as a place that has held its ground through centuries of shifting borders and powers. That's the shape at the heart of this patch.

Blue and yellow — the colors of the coat of arms, and yes, of the Ukrainian flag too, though in Lviv's case the connection runs much deeper than the modern state. These colors belong to the city's heraldic history.

Lviv embroidery is known for its lightness — geometric patterns on white canvas with deliberate negative space, almost lacy in quality. This patch takes that same restrained sensibility and builds it around the fortress form. A city that has always known how to protect what matters, rendered in my own graphic language.
