Ternopil's embroidery tradition — specifically the Borshchiv style — is one of the most recognized in Ukraine. Dense, voluminous stitching in black thread, historically worked with thick wool to create bold relief textures that covered entire sleeves. It's dramatic and precise at the same time, a visual language built from strength.
This patch draws from that tradition. Black for endurance, memory, and the earth. Red for life, energy, and protection. Together they form a combination that has made Ternopil embroidery known far beyond Ukraine's borders.
My own graphic interpretation of that heritage. The name is embedded in the pattern — bold enough to carry the weight of where it comes from.
