The tryzub embroidered on the front of this hat is not the modern state emblem you've seen on every flag and government building. It's an older one — Mykola Bytynskyi's 1930s interpretation, drawn for the Album of Uniforms of the Ukrainian Army and Navy during the Liberation Struggle of 1917–1921. Bytynskyi was a Ukrainian graphic designer building a visual record of a country that had briefly existed and been crushed. His tryzub was an act of remembering.
A camo trucker hat is an unexpected place for a 1930s Ukrainian liberation graphic. That's part of the point. The aesthetics of hunting, fishing, and outdoor life carry their own American visual language — and putting a piece of Ukrainian visual heritage into that register is its own kind of act. A way to wear the symbol where it doesn't usually go.
Embroidered in yellow on the front panel of a camo-and-mesh structured trucker, six-panel low-profile, adjustable plastic snap.
Made to order to reduce waste. Most orders arrive within 1-2 weeks depending on your location.
